The restoration may be necessary, for example, if some of the CRM permissions essential to Riva were mistakenly revoked.
Requirements
- The metadata of the Riva transactions that took place during the specified Modified Date range is still available.
- Exchange is set to soft-delete the types of items that need to be restored (contacts, tasks, and/or calendar items).

Restore deleted items in Riva 2.4.45 through Riva 2.4.54
To restore deleted contacts –or– restore deleted tasks –or– restore deleted calendar items and uncancel canceled calendar items:
-
Apply the following advanced options to the sync policy or to one or more users:
-
Sync.Crm.ReinitRestoreDeletedItems.MinDate = [date] (The beginning date of the Modified Date range designated for the restoration.)
-
Sync.Crm.ReinitRestoreDeletedItems.MaxDate = [date] (The end of the Modified Date range designated for the restoration.)
-
Sync.Crm.ReinitRestoreDeletedItems.TombstoneReplicaId = [type of items]
where [type of items] is one of the following:
- CA: Restricts the search in the metadata to CRM calendar items that the sync deleted or canceled in Exchange.
- CC: (Supported in Riva 2.4.47 or higher.) Restricts the search in the metadata to CRM contacts that the sync deleted in Exchange.
- CT: (Supported in Riva 2.4.47 or higher.) Restricts the search in the metadata to CRM tasks that the sync deleted in Exchange.
Note: Only one type of items can be restored at a time. To restore another type of items, repeat the procedure.
-
Sync.Crm.ReinitRestoreDeletedItems.DryRun = true (Highly recommended. Executes the Restore deleted items re-init option in a dry run (investigative mode) instead of performing the restoration. The dry run lists, in the logs, all the changes that the re-init option would perform during an actual restoration. By viewing the logs, you can ensure that the restoration will do exactly what you expect. If the dry run results are satisfactory, proceed with the actual restoration, as described later in this procedure.)
-
Perform a re-initialization with the Restore deleted items re-init option for the same users that the advanced options were applied to.
-
Sync.
-
Examine the logs to see if the results are what you need during the actual restoration.
-
If they are, remove the Sync.Crm.ReinitRestoreDeletedItems.DryRun advanced option or set it to false. Apply the Restore deleted items re-init option to the same users as previously, and sync.
This time, the sync actually restores the deleted items and/or uncancels the canceled items as described in the table.
-
To restore another type of items, repeat steps 1–5.
