Download and Extract a Riva On-Premise Server

To install the Riva On-Premise server:

1. Log in to the Windows host system as a local administrator.

2. Verify that the Windows host system meets the system requirements.

3. Ensure that the Firewall, IESC, and HTTP/S proxy settings are correct.

4. Download and extract Riva.

5. Check for updates.

Download and Extract Riva

To download and extract Riva:

1. Request a free trial on our Schedule a Consult page.

   After a discovery call, you will receive an email with instructions and a download link.

2. When you receive the download email, log in to the Windows system as a local administrative user or as a user with local administrative rights and permissions.

3. In the download email, select the provided link to download the riva-latest.zip file, and save the file to the Windows system.

4. Right-click the riva-latest.zip file, and confirm that the file is not blocked. If the Unblock button is visible, unblock the file.

5. Extract the riva-latest.zip file to a local drive on the Windows system.

   Riva cannot be run from a network drive (UNC path or mapped drive). Install Riva to a local drive on the Windows system that will host the Riva server. The Riva installation consumes additional hard drive space after installation when configuration, policy files, log files, and transaction records are created. Many customers extract the Riva files to an additional data drive.

6. Browse to the extraction folder determined at step 5, and create desktop shortcuts for the following files:

   • Riva.exe: Name the shortcut “Riva Manager”.
   • "Riva Service Monitor.cmd": Name the shortcut “Riva Service Monitor”.
