Sugar 6.1 New Appointments Not Synchronized to User Creating Appointment. (Archived.)

Issue

The release of Sugar 6.1 introduced a change to the logic for handling appointments that results in the removal of the originator of appointments from the attendee list for appointments.

For Riva On-Premise environments that synchronize to Sugar 6.1, when users create multi-attendee appointments in their CRM accounts, Sugar removes the creating users as attendees from the appointments. Riva On-Premise will synchronize the new appointments to the email mailbox of all attendees except the users creating the appointments. The users can find the appointments and manually add themselves as attendees to the appointments and Riva On-Premise will synchronize the appointments to the users on the next sync cycle.

This issue affects both Exchange and GroupWise target email systems.

Warning

If you have upgraded Sugar to 6.1 and are running Riva On-Premise, we recommend stopping the Riva synchronization service until you either implement the Sugar fix and/or the Riva On-Premise fix.

Solutions

Sugar Fix: Sugar Developer Zone has released the how-to article Restore automatically inviting the organizer to calls and meetings that will restore the correct logic to the CRM system and resolve the issue.

Riva On-Premise Fix: Riva released Riva On-Premise 2.14.20 on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 with code to restore the user as an attendee to private appointments. Upgrade Riva On-Premise to the latest public release.

Applies to

  • Riva On-Premise for Exchange 2.4.19 or earlier;
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010, 2007, and 2003;
  • GroupWise 7.0.3+; and
