GoldMine: Custom CRM Connection Option to Support User Exchange Timezone Settings

By default, the Riva GoldMine connection stamps calendar items with the time zone set in GoldMine for the connection user. If the connection user is set to Eastern Standard Time and a user is working in Pacific Standard Time, Riva stamps the latter's calendar items in Eastern Standard Time — the user's appointments show up three hours off the desired time.

CRM Connection Custom Option

Riva 2.4.35+ includes a custom option that can be applied to the CRM connection to set the time zone for users that are operating in a different time zone from the Riva connection user.

To set a user's time zone

• Apply the following advanced custom option key and value to the Riva connection for GoldMine:

GoldMine.OverrideTimeZone(GOLDMINE USER NAME) = Time Zone

Example:

GoldMine.OverrideTimeZone(NEIL) = Pacific Standard Time

Important Notes

• The names to use for the time zones are found at https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms912391%28v=winembedded.11%29.aspx.

• A custom option key and value has to be set for each user that is in a different time zone from the Riva connection user.

• The values do not need to be changed when time zones shift from standard to daylight savings time.
