Riva customers using GroupWise 8.0.2 have reported issues with their Post Office Agent Service that freezes or locks up when Riva tries to connect to target users in a GroupWise Post Office. GroupWise 8.0.2 has some SOAP interface crashes that may be causing this issue, and Novell has released a patch that resolves this.
The solution entails two actions:
- Updating the Riva server to the latest release.
- Applying the latest Hot Patch to GroupWise, which as of March 16, 2012 was Hot Patch 3.
To resolve the issue:
Open the Riva CRM Monitor, and stop the Riva service.
Upgrade Riva On-Premise to the latest public release.
After the update completes, close the Riva Manager and the CRM Monitor.
Download the Hot Patch update directly from Novell: Hot Patch 3 Update.
Apply the Hot Patch 3 update to GroupWise.
Open the Riva CRM Monitor, and restart the service.
Riva should now be able to connect to the GroupWise Post Office Agent and synchronize data without the POA stopping.
