Customize Job Title contact field mapping for Oracle CRM On Demand connections

Article ID: 1063

When Riva Cloud or Riva On-Premise syncs contact records between Oracle On Demand (OOD) and Exchange, Riva maps the OOD Contact Role field to the Outlook Job Title field. OOD does have a Job Title field that is commonly used by CRM users.

Change of Default Field Mapping

Both Riva Cloud and Riva On-Premise 2.4.35 or higher automatically map the OOD Job Title field to the Outlook Job Title field for new CRM connections and/or sync policies.

For CRM connections and sync policies that were created with Riva Cloud before Nov. 19, 2013, or with Riva On-Premise 2.4.34 or earlier, Riva continues by default to map the OOD Contact Role field to the Outlook Job Title field. You can change that behaviour by using an advanced option to remap the OOD Job Title field to the Outlook Job Title field.

Implementation for Riva Cloud

Implementation for Riva On-Premise

To remap the OOD Job Title field to the Outlook Job Title field:

  1. Recommended: Upgrade Riva On-Premise to the latest public release.

    At a minimum, ensure that Riva 2.4.35 is installed. (To know which Riva On-Premise version is installed.)

  2. Apply the following advanced option to the sync policy:

    OracleOnDemand.Contact.WithNewJobTitleFieldMapping = true

  3. To force the correct value to be written to the Outlook contact Job Title field, do as follows while re-initializing the users:
    1. In the Modules field, select AddressBook.
    2. In Riva 2.4.46 or earlier, skip this step (without any problem). In Riva 2.4.47 or higher, in the Category field, select General.
    3. In the Type field, select Resync.

Applies to

  • Riva Cloud for Oracle On Demand and Exchange.
  • Riva On-Premise 2.4.35.16629 or higher for Oracle On Demand and Exchange.
