Generate a SSO URL on the hosted Riva SSO Provider service

WARNING: The Riva for Salesforce Single Sign-On connection strategy described in this article is not supported for new Riva On-Premise installations.

New Riva On-Premise installations include a new strategy to provide impersonation access into Salesforce: the Standard Impersonation Model. For instructions on implementing the Standard Impersonation Model, see Prepare Salesforce for Riva and Create and test a Salesforce connection.

For current Riva On-Premise installations that use Salesforce Single Sign-On, administrators are encouraged to upgrade their Riva for Salesforce connection setup to the Standard Impersonation Model. For assistance, contact the Riva Success Team.

The procedures in the following article have been deprecated. The information is being retained for clients who have not yet converted to the new Standard Impersonation Model.

This procedure creates an SSO URL from the hosted Riva SSO Provider service which can configured as the default SSO gateway for the targete Salesforce organization. This article will discuss:

Requirements

Before using this procedure, ensure that the following requirements have been met:

You have a confirmed EWS URL for the target Exchange system.
The target users in the Exchange system are properly configured with the target user Salesforce username.
The DA-SSO feature has been activated in the target Salesforce organization.
Salesforce Network Trust has been configured for the hosted SSO Provider service.
Salesforce Network Trust has been configured for the Riva server. (not required for Riva Live).

Activation Steps

Open a browser and go to the Hosted Riva SSO Provider Service "Activation" page.
Under "Activation Request" provide the Exchange Web Services URL.
If the target Salesforce.com users are "Sandbox" accounts, check "Use Salesforce Sandbox".
Click the Generate button.
If successful, the generated SSO URL will be displayed.
Record this URL, or leave this browser page open so you can copy and paste the URL for the next step - test target user authentication.

Recover a misplaced Generated SSO URL

The Riva hosted SSO Provider service creates a permanent record of the generated SSO URL for each EWS URL that is activated. If you ever misplace the generated SSO URL, follow the steps to activate the EWS URL (see above) and the Riva hosted SSO Provider service will always display the same original generated SSO URL.
