Last updated: 03 Jul, 2019

Issue

In Riva Cloud or Riva On-Premise, the logs may contain the following error:

 [STORAGE_LIMIT_EXCEEDED] storage limit exceeded

Cause

The error originates from the Salesforce Web API. It means that the data storage allocated by Salesforce has exceeded its maximum limit.

Types of Salesforce storage available:

  • File Storage: This consists of all the files and attachments that are uploaded in your Org.
  • Data Storage: This is where your standard and custom object data resides.

To check the available storage size:

  • In Salesforce, navigate to Setup > Data > Storage Usage.

For more information on Salesforce storage, see Data and file storage allocations.

Solution

To resolve this error:

  • The Salesforce Admin can delete or export old records to free up space.
  • Contact Salesforce to upgrade your storage or edition.
