Note: The Outlook mobile app for Android presently does not support contact subfolder sync. If your Riva synchronization (sync) policy is set to sync contacts to a separate folder, you will not be able to see this folder in the Outlook mobile app.

Microsoft plans to support contact subfolders in a future release of the Outlook app. In the meantime, we recommend using the native Android Email & Contacts apps to sync your CRM contacts if you have configured Riva to sync contacts to a separate folder.

Riva syncs CRM contact and calendar information to the native address book and calendar applications on your Android device. Use Riva to view CRM opportunities, cases, and quotes on your Android device and to take advantage of powerful automation features that will give you more strategic selling time.

Getting Started – Riva Sync for Android Devices

Need to synchronize (sync) CRM contact and calendar information to the native address book and calendar applications on your Android device? Riva delivers server-side sync of CRM accounts, contacts, leads, appointments, meetings, phone calls, tasks, opportunities, cases, quotes, and custom CRM objects to the Android device. Take advantage of the Android device's native functionality and interactivity.

With Riva, there are no additional CRM plug-ins or mobile applications to install on your Android device for the sync to occur. Riva can sync between the leading CRM and email systems. To get started, configure your Android device to connect to your mailbox. In this example, we use an Exchange mailbox for the screen shots.

How to Connect Your Email Account to Your Android Device

There are two ways to connect your email account to your Android device.

Connect via Settings > Accounts and Backup Connect via Email app

Step 1: Set up your email account on your Android device by navigating to Settings > Accounts and backup > Accounts > Add account. Choose your email account type, then enter your email account, server domain, user name, and password. Riva is compatible with SSL to keep your communications and CRM information secure on the device.

The remaining steps are the same for both ways to connect your email account to your Android device.

How Riva Syncs Your CRM Data with Your Android Device

Sync CRM contacts to the Android address book

Riva automatically syncs CRM contacts, accounts, and leads to your Android device's native Contacts app. This allows you to take advantage of the Android device's native functionality and interactivity.

Sync CRM calendar data to the Android calendar

Riva syncs CRM appointments, meetings, phone calls, and tasks to the Android device's native calendar application. Create new appointments or modify existing calendar items on your Android device, and they will be synchronized to your CRM (or vice-versa).

Manage CRM opportunities, cases, and quotes directly from your mobile device

Riva goes beyond CRM plug-ins for Android devices by allowing you to view and manage your CRM opportunities, cases, and quotes directly from the Android device in connected or disconnected modes. Select the Opportunities folder on your Android device to see a full list of your CRM opportunities. Select a specific opportunity to see an email summary of the opportunity.

Riva SmartConvert and AssignTo folders on your Android

Riva introduces powerful automation features that reduce manual data entry and give salespeople more strategic selling time. Use Riva AssignTo folders to archive emails against CRM accounts, contacts, opportunities, cases, or quotes. Move (copy) emails into the Create New Opportunity folder, and Riva will automatically create the account, contact(s), and opportunity in the CRM and sync the information back down to your Android device. Riva SmartConvert saves salespeople 5 to 7 minutes per converted email.
