Riva Cloud and Riva On-Premise can be configured to map certain email system attributes to custom Salesforce attributes for event and email items. Those kinds of attributes are typically used for Salesforce custom workflows or reports.

Implementation for Riva Cloud

Implementation for Riva On-Premise

To map Salesforce custom attributes to email system attributes:

  1. Start the Riva Manager application. On the menu bar, select Setup. In the right pane, double-click the Salesforce connection object to edit it.

  2. Select Advanced Mapping.

  3. Do one or more of the following:

    • To map an event ID: In the Global Object Id drop-down box, select one of the custom fields detected by Riva, or type the field's name. In the Email category drop-down box, either select the email category that you want to map the Salesforce custom field to, or type the name of the email category.

Tip: If a custom field or email category is not in a drop-down list, you may like to update the contents of the drop-down lists.

    • To map an email ID: In the Message Id, Thread Id, or Conversation Id drop-down box, select one of the Salesforce custom fields detected by Riva, or type the field's name. In the Mail Category drop-down box, either select the email category that you want to map the Salesforce custom field to, or type the name of the email category.

  4. Near the lower right corner, select Save to save the changes to the connection.

  5. In the Riva CRM Monitor application, restart the service.

To update the contents of the drop-down lists:

  1. Select Object Definition.

  2. Near the top, select the Object Type from the drop-down list. (For example, to assign advanced mappings for email, select Email.)

  3. Above the Object Type field, select Refresh.

Applies to

  • Riva Cloud for Salesforce.
  • Riva On-Premise 2.4.35 or higher for Salesforce.
