GoldMine 8.5 Error: "Poll Error - 0 Call Did Not Succeed. SELECT DISTINCT main.COMPLETEID AS RECID, main.RECID"

The following GoldMine 8.5 error may appear in the Riva Service Monitor:

Poll Error - 0 Call did not succeed. SELECT DISTINCT main.COMPLETEID AS RECID, main.RECID


Running GoldMine 8.5 with Riva 2.4.33 or higher causes the error.

Riva 2.4.33 or higher provides the ability to sync Completed Activities from GoldMine to Exchange. This ability is set by default, because most customers today are running version 9 or higher of GoldMine. This feature works only for GoldMine 9.0 and later, because these versions of GoldMine contain a COMPLETEID table in the database, which GoldMine 8.5 does not.


To prevent this error from occurring in GoldMine 8.5:

  1. Start the Riva Manager application. If the menu bar displays Setup, select Setup.

  2. In the right pane, double-click the GoldMine connection object to edit the connection.

  3. Select the Others tab.

  4. Under Sync Completed Activity Options, clear the Enable Completed Activity Sync check box.

  5. Save the connection.

  6. In the Riva Service Monitor, restart the service.

  7. Verify that the error no longer appears.
