Can EMU Bulk Import Users Setting Universal Password

Customer asked:  If EMU can still bulk create (import) users and set the Universal Password using value from CSV file.  They recently tried it and none of the passwords were properly set.

Customer later reported that this issue was related to a corrupt NMAS-enabled Windows Novell client.  Theyworked with Novell support to determine that the Novell client installed on the Windows system hosting EMU was corrupted and needed to be re-installed.

Support for Universal Password

EMU does supports bulk creating (importing from CSV file) new users and setting the Universal password provided that the following conditions are met:

  1. Universal password policy is set against the OU containers where the new users will be created.
  2. A NMAS-enabled Windows Novell client is installed on the Windows system hosting EMU.
  3. Password specified in the CSV file meets the security requirements set in the Universal password policy applied to the target OU containers in eDirectory

If customers are experiencing an issue related to setting Universal passwords using EMU, try re-installing the Windows Novell client.
