Sending Logs With Riva Insight Windows Add-in Log Extraction

The Riva Insight Log Extraction utility is a fast and efficient way of gathering the basic troubleshooting information for Riva staff to analyze an issue you're having.

Minimum Requirements

  • Riva Insight 2021.3.
  • Riva Insight Windows Add-in only.

How to Run the Log Extraction Utility

  1. In Outlook, on the File menu, select About Riva Insight (at the bottom).

  2. In the Riva Insight :: About window that appears, select Send Diagnostic Logs.

  3. If the gathering fails, click Try Again to attempt the log gathering process again.

    If the gathering of logs succeeds, the Success modal window is populated.

  4. Below the generated password, click Copy to clipboard, and paste the password in a separate email for the recipient.

  5. Click OK.

    Result: An email window appears with pre-populated contents:

    • Zipped and password-protected file attachment:
      • Log files (up to 3 days).
      • Text file for the Sync Configuration settings.
      • Text file for the Windows add-in registry settings.
    • Subject line.
    • Version and sync configuration in the body.

  6. Click Send.
