Customize Riva Insight Based on User Records or Profiles

Data in the Salesforce user profile or record of the currently logged-in Riva Insight user can be used to customize the functionality of Riva Insight.

Minimum system requirements

  • Salesforce
  • Riva Insight 2021.2.

Note: If you use the Riva Insight Outlook Windows add-in, we recommend upgrading to the same version as Riva Insight.

Examples

Riva Insight can be configured to use data in the Salesforce User Profile or Salesforce Record assignment of the currently logged-in user to determine

  • which fields to display or hide;
  • which fields are required;
  • which values can be selected on a list;
  • whether values can be multi-selected;
  • what the default values are;
  • which options are available within a related items list.
     

To make those determinations, almost any field available on the currently logged-in user's record or profile can be used, for example the department or team the user belongs to.

Benefit

Configuring Riva Insight based on the user record or profile of the currently logged-in user is simpler than setting up multiple connections, separate Riva Insight endpoints, or multiple sets of Riva Insight configuration files.
