NetSuite 2021 Authentication Changes: Riva Is Ready

Article ID: 2162
Last updated: 09 Dec, 2020

Riva is ready for these NetSuite 2021 authentication-related changes:

Inbound SSO authentication interface

Riva is ready for the NetSuite 2021.1 deprecation of the Inbound SSO authentication interface, tentatively scheduled for January 2021. Integrated SuiteApps that rely on that interface (including those that use the SuiteTalk SOAP mapSso() and ssoLogin() methods and user interface redirect capability) will cease to operate correctly starting in NetSuite 2021.1.

Riva does not rely on the Inbound SSO authentication interface or the SuiteTalk SOAP mapSso() or ssoLogin() methods, so the deprecation announced for NetSuite 2021.1 does not impact Riva users.

HMAC-SHA256

NetSuite 2021 will require HMAC-SHA256.

Riva already supports HMAC-SHA256 for NetSuite Token-Based Authentication  (TBA).

Riva's TBA connections to NetSuite already meet the TBA requirements announced for NetSuite 2021.1 and 2021.2.

NetSuite 2021.1:

  • Tentatively scheduled for January 2021.
  • Won't support new integrations that use HMAC-SHA1 with TBA.
  • Riva already supports HMAC-SHA256 for new TBA integrations to NetSuite, so the change announced for NetSuite 2021.1 does not impact Riva users.

NetSuite 2021.2:

  • Targeted for release in late summer 2021.
  • All integrations that use TBA must use HMAC-SHA256.
  • Riva already supports HMAC-SHA256 for all TBA integrations to NetSuite, so the change announced for NetSuite 2021.2 does not impact Riva users.
