Office 365: Riva Support for OAuth for Free / Busy

The Riva Manager application now provides a way to create an Ews FreeBusy connection with OAuth credentials.

Requirement: A certificate-based or client secret-based Office 365 OAuth connection that has been tested and works.

General workflow:

  1. The Ews FreeBusy connection is configured with the same Target Url as the certificate-based or client secret-based Office 365 OAuth connection and is saved in a preliminary, incomplete state.
  2. The original Office 365 OAuth connection is configured with a new parameter that allows the new Ews FreeBusy connection to use its credentials.
  3. The new Ews FreeBusy connection is edited to use the credentials that that have been allowed for its use.

Five Connection Creation Wizards Have Been Retired

Five Riva wizards that have been used to create connections until now have been retired. As a result, it is no longer possible to create connections to the following email systems or CRMs:

  • GroupWise.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 4. — Instead, use the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011+ Wizard.
  • Database CRM.
  • Infor CloudSuite CRM (previously named Infor CRM; Saleslogix.)
  • Sage CRM.

Existing connections to those email systems and CRMS are still supported. It is still possible to sync with them.
