Riva Insight On-Premise 2018.3 or higher can be configured to display Salesforce data according to the Salesforce end-users' permissions. This requires logging in with Salesforce.

In previous versions of Riva Insight On-Premise or by default in Riva Insight On-Premise 2018.3 or higher, the data appears based on the Salesforce Riva connection user's permissions.

To display Salesforce data in Riva Insight On-Premise according to the Salesforce end users' permissions:

  1. Ensure that your Riva Insight On-Premise Server is configured with HTTPS.

  2. In Salesforce, while defining a connected app, take the following into account:

    • The app can have any name.
    • Enable OAuth Settings: true.
    • Callback URL: Case sensitive. Must be in lowercase.
    • Selected OAuth Scopes:
      • Access and manage your data (api).
      • Access your basic information.
      • Perform requests on your behalf at any time...
    • Take note of the Key, Secret, and Callback URLs for the connected app.

  3. Ensure that Refresh Token Policy is NOT set to Immediately expire refresh token.

Result: The next time an end user logs in with Salesforce to Riva Insight, Riva Insight will display Salesforce data filtered by that user's permissions.
