Ability to Use End-User Permissions to Filter the Display of Salesforce Data

(Available for the Insight panel and Track in CRM, in both the Outlook Web add-in and the Windows add-in.)

Background:

  • In Riva Insight 2018.2 or earlier, the Salesforce data displayed in the Insight panel or Track in CRM was always based on the permissions of the CRM service account — that is, the account used to set up the Salesforce connection with Riva.

Now:

  • Your system can be configured to ensure that the Salesforce data is displayed according to the end users' permissions. For more information, see Display Salesforce data as per end-users' permissions.
  • If your system is not configured to display data based on the end users' permissions, the data will be displayed according to the CRM service account.

Appointment Details

(New customization available for the Insight panel in all three Riva Insight add-ins: Outlook Web, Windows for Outlook, and IBM Notes.)

(Available for appointment organizers. Does not apply to recurring items.)

As an appointment organizer, with Insight panel, view details of a synced CRM appointment right in your mail platform to have a seamless experience with CRM data. This can help you identify if an appointment has been tracked or synced, or if it requires more details.

This customization requires an updated Riva Insight client version:

The appointment details can be configured to display custom fields.

To enable the display of appointment details, contact the Riva Success Team.

Upcoming Events and Recent Interactions Can Be Customized

(New customization available for the Insight panel in all three Riva Insight add-ins: Outlook Web, Windows for Outlook, and IBM Notes.)

In the Contact Information of the Insight panel, the Upcoming Events and Recent Interactions sections can be customized in various ways.

For more information, see Customizing the upcoming events and recent interactions.

Same-Domain Contacts

(New customization available for the Insight panel in both the Outlook Web add-in and the Windows add-in. — In the IBM Notes add-in, same-domain contacts were already displayed by default in the Insight panel.)

Contacts whose email address is in the same email domain as yours can be displayed in the Insight panel for the Outlook add-ins. The customization requires an updated Riva Insight client version and contacting the Riva Success Team for activation (or disactivation).

Support for the Salesforce Login to Riva Insight

(Now available for the Insight panel, in the Outlook Web add-in. — The Salesforce login to Riva Insight was already available for the Insight panel in the Windows add-in for Outlook.)

You can log in to the Insight panel Outlook Web add-in with your Salesforce credentials.
For the requirements and procedure to log in with Salesforce, see Riva Insight: Log in with Salesforce.
