Authenticate to Sugar 8 Through a Custom API Platform

Riva Cloud Company: The following procedure is required for Riva to connect to Sugar 8.

Riva Cloud Corporate: The following procedure is required if Riva connects to Sugar 8 through an individual CRM user's account.

Riva On-Premise: The following procedure is recommended to add a custom API platform

  • for a new Sugar 8 connection or
  • updating a SOAP-based connection to support REST.

To set up Riva authentication to Sugar 8:

  1. Log in to Sugar 8 as Administrator.

  2. Navigate to the Administration Portal.

  3. Scroll to Developer Tools, and select Configure API Platforms.

  4. Add a new platform name.

  5. Do one of the following:

    • If you are creating a Sugar 8 connection, insert the custom API platform name into the Platform field.

      OR

    • If you are migrating a SOAP-based Sugar connection to REST, configure the following advanced option for the connection:

      Sugar.OAuth.Platform = [configured platform name]

      Example that matches the Configure API Platforms screen shot:

      Sugar.OAuth.Platform = Riva
