Unauthorized (invalid_grant) The Combination of This Email Address and Certificate Is Not Valid

Issue

In Riva Cloud or Riva On-Premise, this Google connection error may occur:

[Unauthorized] (invalid_grant) The combination of this email address and certificate is not valid.

The error message means that the credentials and the user email address do not match.

Possible Causes and Their Solutions

  • The user's email address is incorrect.
    — Possible solutions:
    • Ask the user to provide the correct email address when authenticating.
    • Ensure that the Riva Google connection has the correct email address.
       
  • The user has revoked the OAuth mode from his or her Google account.
    — Solution: Ask the user to restore OAuth mode to his or her Google account.

  • The G Suite administrator has assigned the user to a Google organization that does not have access to Riva.
    — Solution: Ask the G Suite administrator to assign the user to a Google organization that has access to Riva.

  • The G Suite administrator has revoked Riva's service mode access.
    — Solution: Ask the G Suite administrator to restore Riva's access.
