GoldMine: How to Sync GoldMine-Created Recurring Series Appointments to Exchange and Google

Article ID: 1160

Riva can be configured to support syncing recurring Exchange appointments to GoldMine. Riva has added an option to allow GoldMine-created recurring appointments to synchronize to Exchange.

*** Currently the Google SDK does not support GoldMine-originating recurring calendar items. Riva does support Google-originating recurring Calendar items.

This option has not been fully tested, and it is still recommended to create and manage recurring calendar items within Exchange.

To allow GoldMine-created recurring appointments to synchronize to Exchange:

Notes:

  • GoldMine API limitations prevent Riva from syncing updates to individual instances of recurring appointments created in GoldMine. Riva does not run into these limitations if the recurring appointment is created in Exchange.
  • Users should not manage GoldMine-created recurring calendar items in Outlook that have been synced by Riva. Instead of attempting to update such items in Outlook, we recommend deleting the items in Outlook and recreating them in Outlook.
  • Riva does not sync GoldMine hourly recurring calendar items, because those do not exist in Exchange.
  • When an Exchange Weekly appointment is created with the Monday through Friday check boxes selected, Riva syncs the appointment to GoldMine with the Repeats set as Every day and Skip Weekends. As per the first note, if you need to update the appointment, do so in Outlook.
